Purpose:
An algorithm to guide treatment of hypotension in the ELBW population with the goal of standardizing and hopefully decreasing the use of fluid boluses, as well as promoting judicious and appropriate use of hydrocortisone.
A standard approach to weaning off hydrocortisone is also incorporated.
The algorithm was developed with evidence-based principles, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and individualized and family-centered approaches to caring for the neonate.
